Onefold just launched this week, but the founder, Anika, has worked in the fashion industry for a decade. The inaugural collection is made with recycled cashmere yarn from one of the leading manufacturer’s of high-end knits. They’re coining it “reborn cashmere”, a 100% regenerated fiber made from both pre-owned cashmere garments and post factory waste. The material is both GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified.

The company is based in NYC and produces in Los Angeles with a small family owned factory that’s been making premier knitwear since 1991. The unisex designs are fashion forward and specifically designed to last one child about 3 years. Worth noting that the prices are not for the faint of heart, with tops ranging from $150 - $290, pants $210 - $250 and accessories (a very cool hat included) $85 - $100. In this case, using recycled materials is more expensive than using virgin cashmere.

Besides the great design, we love how transparent this company is. They have spelled out A to Z their efforts in sustainability and have thought through so many impactful aspects. You can ready more about their efforts here. Additionally, they partner with One Tree Planted, to plant a tree for every purchase made. Through Cloverly, they also offer a 25 cent carbon offset option when you check out.

This brand is firmly on our ‘one to watch’ list and we can’t wait to see what they do next. onefold.co
