With the new year came sad news for fans of the Venice designed and made brand, boy+girl. The designer, Christine Chang, announced on January 13 that she is closing her kid’s brand after 8 years. Before launching boy+girl, Christine worked in New York as a buyer for Ralph Lauren and ABC Home.

The brand had distinct minimalist and California boho vibes, with breezy silhouettes, my favorite harem pants (on our list of favorite pants we’d buy again) and an easy to wear aesthetic. Besides great design, boy+girl had a penchant for using natural materials like washed cotton gauze and linen. The mostly unisex line has timeless designs that will be missed. Although Christine is taking a pause to enjoy some much deserved time off with her young daughter, we have a feeling this is not the last we’ll see of her and her beautiful designs.

The Venice store will close on January 31 and there’s a big closing sale up to 70% off, both in store and online. We stopped by the store today, based on what I saw, there’s great deals and they’re going fast.
