Just when we were ready to bid adieu to fall and start looking expectantly at spring, The Simple Folk not only launched their first footwear collection, but also a sweet limited release of organic denim. They are both mini capsules, with only a 2 styles in footwear and 4 in denim, mostly geared towards girls.

The Perfect Boot is the first in footwear and it is reminiscent of the cult classic, Petit Nord Classic Boot. However, they do look to come up a tad bit higher on the ankle (with thoughtful comfortable ankle padding inside) and have an overall more vintage look. They’re made in Portugal, cost $88 and currently only come in a vintage tan cognac color. They also introduced The Sheepskin Bootie, made with 100% Irish wool and sheepskin in the same tan shade. They look like they are ready for a fashion shoot on the streets of Aspen, but are probably best suited for cozy indoor slipper use since they don’t have a weather resistant sole. Made in Poland and $58, they come in sizes only for the littlest in the family.

So, now the organic denim. That’s right, organic denim. This is worth mentioning multiple times because you don’t often see organic denim, even in the kids market. The Simple Foik’s denim is 98.5% organic denim and 1.5% elastin and all pieces are made in Portugal. This four piece collection consists of an elongated jacket, the popular Forest Playsuit, a simple denim skirt and the most fashion forward, a high waisted denim overall. The Denim Wide Leg Overall is exactly that and has a comfy oversized look and feel and pairs really well with The Denim Jua Jacket. We love their Forest Playsuit and in the dark denim it looks pretty great. The playsuit can easily become a year round staple, with or without layering, as can the Simple Skirt. Although the collection starts at $52 for the skirt, the rest are between $88-$92. simplefolk.co
