We guarantee 100 per cent for the quality of all Konges Sløjd’s products. Our design philosophy is to make tasteful children’s interior design and items that bring the little ones joy, and which, at the same time, make visual sense to the parents.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED, IS YOUR WHOLE TEAM THERE?

Our office is located in Central Copehagen where all our designers and sales representatives is. But our warehouse is located in Jylland.

WHERE ARE THE COLLECTIONS PRODUCED? HOW DO YOU ENSURE YOUR MANUFACTURERS ARE MEETING BEST ETHICAL PRACTICES AND ARE YOU ABLE TO CLOSELY MONITOR YOUR PRODUCTION?

We mainly produce in China and India, but also Turkey and Malaysia. The factories we work with must have GOTS certification, BSCI or OEKO-Tex. We also have QC to do the inspection for early/middle/final phase of production.

WHAT KIND OF MATERIALS DO YOU MOST USE? ARE THE MATERIALS CERTIFIED?

Yes, GOTS certified organic cotton, We also use OEKO-Tex wool, natural rubber, FSC paper, FSC wood .

HOW DO YOU SELECT THE FABRICS YOU USE AND WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?

We find qualities we like and source them at our suppliers. They come from India, China, Turkey and sometimes Australia.

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US ABOUT HOW YOUR FABRICS ARE DYED?

All our factories are OEKO-Tex, so the fabrics are dyed after their standards.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR OVERSTOCK OF MATERIALS AND FABRIC SCRAPS?

We use most of our overstock of materials for sampling of new styles for upcoming collections.

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR PACKAGING FOR SHIPMENTS TO CUSTOMERS?

We reuse the original boxes send from our suppliers in India, China, Malaysia and Turkey. At the moment we use recyclable poly bags and try to minimize the use of them as much as possible.

DO YOU USE INDIVIDUAL BAGS FOR INDIVIDUAL ITEMS WHEN YOU SHIP TO RETAILERS? IF YES, ARE THEY RECYCLED AND/OR COMPOSTABLE?

We try to not to have separate plastic bags on each items. So on the items where this is possible, there is NOT individual poly bags.

DO YOU USE RECYCLED PAPER FOR YOUR HANG TAGS, POSTCARDS AND MARKETING MATERIALS?

Yes, at the moment we’re developing new hang tags that are recyclable. We don’t do printed postcards and we stopped printing lookbooks and made an online catalogue instead.

DO YOU WANT TO SHARE ANYTHING ELSE WITH OUR READERS ON YOUR EFFORTS IN SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICAL PRACTICES?

We really try to do as much as possible all the time. At the moment we are developing new hang tags that are made out of stones which we think is really cool. Other than that we’re always searching for new and better sustainable fabrics or methods to produce.
