This small family run business focuses on the natural goodness of merino wool and are mindful of their eco-footprint. They use all natural materials, a 100% merino wool that is non-mulesed. Their merino wool is certified by ZQ Merino which requires growers to adhere to strict animal welfare, environmental, and economic sustainability standards. All of their wool is sourced in New Zealand and Australia ranches with RWS certification, then spun and dyed in Vietnam and Thailand at BLUESIGN system factories, ensuring sheep, people and the environment are cared for. The merino wool fabric rolls are sent to North Carolina, where it’s produced at a worker-owned factory.
Fabric scraps are made into merino scrap bundles for crafting and mending, smaller bits are used as fiber fill by a company in South Carolina. They also send usable scraps to Hazel Village to create mini thermals for their woodland friends. They hold a ‘perfectly imperfect’ sale for garments with slight imperfections and samples.
For shipping materials they use 100% recycled EcoEnclose mailers and recycled paper boxes. They don’t produce printed marketing materials and hang tags are sourced locally with partially recycled paper. To offset the environmental impact of their home office and shipping they use Terrapass to purchase carbon offsets.
