Stylish and simple with high quality standards and an embrace of the hygge life. They use mostly natural materials, including GOTS organic cotton, Oeko-Tex wool and FSC wood. They do use some elastane and the outerwear uses polyester with Eco Bionic-Finish. Their fabrics are sourced close to production through their manufacturers. Their dye process doesn’t use any harmful chemicals and is compliant with Oeko-Tex standards. The two main factories they work with are located in China and India and all factories have GOTS certification, BSCI or Oeko-Tex certification to ensure good working conditions. They also regularly visit their factories.
Overstock of materials are used for sampling and some fabric qualities are repeated seasonally to reduce waste. They also make small accessories and home items that help to reduce fabric waste. For shipping materials they use recycled boxes and recyclable polybags, limiting their use on individual items. They are developing eco-friendly hang tags and don’t print lookbooks or marketing materials. Konges Sløjd answered all our questions about company practices and were easy to reach for follow up.
