Liilu blends minimalism and folk influence to create timeless designs with a clean aesthetic. Known for their breathable organic cotton muslin and quality finishes, they make mostly generous silhouettes designed to easily grow with children.

These boho inspired collections are ethically produced utilizing a signature fabric and two year sizing increments to reduce waste and encourage prolonged wear. They use all natural materials, including 100% organic cotton, organic merino wool and baby alpaca. Fabrics are garment dyed and non-toxic. All production is in Portugal, where materials are also sourced locally. Factories aren’t certified but do have to follow strict EU regulations. In 2019, the German brand’s founder and designer relocated to Portugal to better oversee production and reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
By producing in limited qualities and offering past seasons through their outlet, they are able to limit overstock and waste. They don’t currently recycle fabric cut-offs, but are working on a project to do so. They use eco-friendly packaging to ship customers and although they use individual polybags for items, they are compostable. They use recyled paper for their hang tags and marketing materials. LiiLU answered all our questions about company practices and were easy to reach for follow up.
