Loungewear Favorite MATE the Label Has a Kidswear Collection

The Los Angeles brand MATE the Label, known for their oh-so popular organic cotton jogger sets, now have a kidswear capsule, Mini MATE.

Created in 2013 by Kayti O’Connell Carr, the small business is female owned and run from Los Angeles. They produce locally, with a supply chain all within 10 miles, so everything is cut, sewn, dyed, packaged and shipped from LA.

Clean Essentials

With sustainability at their core ethos, they use mostly organic cotton and low impact non-toxic dyes. They’re also super transparent and issue an annual ‘Impact Report’ that goes out to their mailing list and is available on their website.

You might know the brand from its massive instagram presence. They were one of the true OG’s of cool matching jogger and sweatshirt sets, worn as every day wear. It became an influencer favorite a few years back, before the pandemic made loungewear a trending thing.

The elevated essentials come in a swath of earthy neutrals and cover different styles of their aforementioned loungewear sets along with some simple tees, tanks and shorts.

Mini MATE came out at the end of 2020 with 4 unisex styles and colors. The matching mini collection includes a classic jogger, raglan sweatshirt, classic tee and a more boxy raw edge tee. The tees are $32-$34 and made with organic jersey cotton. The sweatshirts and joggers are $48 and $58 and made with organic cotton terry.

“There can be some pretty scary stuff in kid’s clothes. We ban these toxins so you have one less thing to worry about for you and your kiddos.”
