Is made to order kidswear the way of a more sustainable future? We sure hope so. The new FW21 Made to Order Collection from Misha & Puff is a win-win for everyone, not least of all, sustainability. Although it’s not as practical unless you already have a pretty loyal customer, we’d love to see more brands follow suit.

What is it? Beginning March 11, the Fall / Winter 2021 collection is up to preview on the M&P website. You can browse, plan and budget your way to a stress-free buying experience. They’ll start taking orders on March 16, at 11am EST and close orders on March 17, at midnight, or until quantities get too full. All orders are final and there’s a few different payment options, like 50% now, 50% prior to ship.

We love this for many reasons. Customers will be able to handpick the items they really want. Misha & Puff collections are much loved and lots of parents stress out about getting the pieces they want on launch days. This should eliminate that stress, for both the shoppers and the brand.

I’m a planner, I usually pick a few pieces I love each season and build a capsule wardrobe around them, so I know I can mix and match easily and don’t end up with things we don’t need. The special pieces from Misha & Puff are usually the anchors of many wardrobes. Buying early and knowing what you have coming will allow for much better planning of the other pieces you need in your kid’s fall wardrobe.

Last but not least, made to order shopping is a much more sustainable. With the insight from what people buy in the pre-order, they’ll have a much better idea of what’s popular, to plan quantities more accurately for the wider launch in September. It eliminates the need for them to guess what might be hits, reducing overstock and ensuring they have enough of the higher demand items. It allows them to experiment more with the collection, without worrying about overproduction.

Some of you might be wondering if the Made to Order collection includes the top selling popcorn sweater, skating skirt and winter accessories. The answer is yes, it’s all there, including accessories! The signature crew neck style popcorn sweater and skating pond skirt will both be available to order in 8 colors. In addition, the all-over popcorn stitch will be available in assorted colors in a new mock neck for kids, a button cardigan with and without a hood and a zip cardigan with a collard neck. There are tons more gorgeous styles in this eco-conscious collection this season.

The other great news, the Made to Order collection will ship in early September, before the regular fall launch. So more time to wear these beautiful pieces and extend wear. In September they’ll still launch the FW21 collection on their website, along with their stocklists around the world.

Of the new collection, Misha & Puff say, “Get ready to fall in love! It's super colorful and super textured. And it includes some really fuzzy, soft alpaca that your kids are going to love, love, love, like our Alpaca Boucle Knits. And did we mention we have Natural Alpaca, too? (Why yes, we did!) We’re also excited about a new waffle knit in our Pima collection, an Eco Wool Fur Cardigan that’ll make your heart sing, and the Fair Isle Sweater that is as lovely as it sounds.”
