The Iconic Collection From Bobo Choses Upcycles Old Fabrics and Hit Designs
Two years in the making, this week Bobo Choses launched their new upcycled Iconic Collection, a dedicated project to expand the lifecycle of their overstock materials and fabric scraps. The move continues the brand’s commitment to using more sustainable fabrics.
The project is a collection of sustainable products made with natural dyes and a combo of recycled pieces from Bobo Choses' past seasons, upcycled fabrics and 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. Basically, Bobo Choses is taking overstock from past collections, fabric scraps and even preloved garments and turning it into a fiber pulp using an innovative recycling technology. The pulp is then mixed with new organic cotton to create yarn and fabric to make clothing and accessories for the Iconic Collection.
The zero waste process was developed with the Waste Agency of Catalonia and Hallotex-TheLoop and not only reduces fabric waste, it reduces water and CO2 emissions. They also make sure their fabrics meet strict quality tests through third-party certification provider Aitex and are Oeko-Tex 100 certified, RCS and GRS certified.
Recycled. Upcycled. Natural.
The new initiative is here to stay, according to Bobo Choses, “Thanks to research, development, and innovation, the brand has created a permanent collection made with recycled, upcycled, and natural materials that rescue the most iconic and beloved prints and patterns in its history—a delight for Bobo Choses lovers and for those who want to be part of the change.”
